Welcome to our second issue of Empower Yourself news! The intent of this newsletter is to share information and provide inspiration to help you live your best life!

In this issue we show you how to take charge of your attitude, provide an important holistic health check by Joe Countryman, tell you about an invaluable financial empowerment teleseminar, share some fun and give feedback on our last newsletter.

Take Charge of Your Attitude!

smiley facesEver heard the saying… “Attitude is everything”?

I believe a positive attitude is critical. It allows us to move forward to achieve our goals and dreams despite seemingly insurmountable obstacles or challenges.

Often our environment affects our attitude and we’re not even aware of it. To assess where we are, let’s do a lifestyle check.

1. Are you getting enough sleep? Experts suggest 7-8 hours of sleep in a completely dark room. To get the maximum healing benefits of sleep it’s best to get to bed before midnight.

2. What do you feed yourself psychologically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually?

There’s a lot of negativity in our world. Tune out the negatives and tune in the positives.

Watch your intake of the daily news. Reduce or eliminate it completely. (The media has played a role in feeding into our fears. Some of us are so locked into our fears we have become addicted to bad news). You will still find out what’s going on in the world but it wont have such a negative hold on your life.

Tune in some good books, videos and DVDs. Surround yourself with supportive friends and positive people.

3. Are you getting enough exercise? Make sure to get out and get moving every day. Spend time out in nature, go for a walk, a ride, a swim, whatever. As you exercise, endorphins flood your body making you feel good all over.

4. Do you keep a gratitude journal? Every night before bed, reflect on your day and write five things you’re grateful for. It’s a wonderful way to program yourself for a good night’s sleep and a great day ahead.

Think about watching two people fighting, first from the next room, and second, watching from a hill well above them. The more physically elevated position allows the witness (you) to experience the conflict without feeling directly threatened.

Many people wonder how they can elevate their attitudes. They have been told by countless self help experts to maintain a positive attitude, but find themselves constantly struggling in their daily habits.

It’s possible that by making small changes to the way we live we can experience a more positive attitude. Here are some tips to help you make this change.

  • Use Clean Water. Buy water filters for your taps and shower heads. A KDF filter is good for filtering out chlorine, lead and other toxins.
  • Drink 10 glasses of clean water every day. Drink slowly in place of soda, sports and energy drinks.
  • Eat Organic Foods. Eat as much organic food as possible. Wild organic foods are quite often the most rich in nutrients. Examples include berries, seeds and greens.
  • Use Nutritional Supplement – MSM. MSM can improve the quality of your cells, hair and skin. You can add about a teaspoon to a glass of water and stir it in. If you drink the mix before a night of light to moderate partying, it may help reduce your hangover.
  • Avoid Soaps and Diet Foods with Benzene. Benzene is found in most commercial soaps and diet foods. (Read the ingredients on the label when buying). It is a chemical that attacks the thymus gland. The thymus gland produces our white blood cells which are responsible for destroying diseases in our blood.

Remember your cells respond to what you put into or on your body. Become more mindful of water, foods, supplements and body care products that improve your state of health and well-being. It will promote a more positive attitude.
